Gum Drop Cake

A christmas time favorite, cake and gum-drop candies!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1.5 cups flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 8 oz (1 package) cream cheese
  • 1 cup margarine or butter
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups gum drops

Directions

  • Cut up gum drops and flour them with 1/2 cup of the flour. I cut them into 3 pieces and make sure each piece is floured. Refrigerate while preparing the cake batter.
  • Cream 1 cup butter / margarine & 8 oz cream cheese until fluffy.
  • Add 1 1/2 cups sugar, 1 tsp vanilla and 4 eggs 1 at a time beating well after adding each egg.
  • Combine remaining 1 1/2 cup flour, 1 1/2 tsp baking powder and 1/4 tsp salt.
  • Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture.
  • Lastly add the floured gumdrops and combine well.
  • Grease and flour a loaf pan or use parchment paper.

Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees.
